London trio back on home turf after a victory lap around the UK celebrating the release of new album Grow Into It for Big Scary Monsters and Topshelf Records. Off-kilter indie-rock bangers feat. wonky Polvo-esque guitar weirdness b/w unreasonably catchy choruses.
Groovy post-punk from the Specialist Subject stables, featuring members of Oh Peas and Deadlines. Jangley 80s guitars and surf-rock riffing that snakes from addictive pop melodies to darker, dissonant sections. Think Trash Kit, Lithics.
Hazy bedroom pop that recalls the likes of Yo La Tengo and Broadcast. Enjoyably melancholy, in a kind of “I’ve had four beers and I feel sad but that’s alright” sorta way.
Intricate, minimal indie-mo, with freewheeling guitars circling around hypnotic drum rhythms a la Life Without Buildings. Honestly, they don’t make ’em like this anymore and I’m so happy this band exists.
